I received a letter today that made me realize that this is what I like doing and this is why all this is worth all the work....

"For those who don’t know me: I am Anke and a member of AIESEC Cologne since November 2007. As part of my personal AIESEC Experience this year I felt ready to go for eXchange.

My original plan was to do a management traineeship, but destiny (or Markus aka VP OGX) had other plans. AIESEC Cluj in Romania was looking for trainees for the third edition of their project called “World Citizenship (WC)”. Due to the great enthusiasm of three people, namely Markus, Melanie (VP ER who has done this traineeship in 2008) and Oana (OCP World Citizenship) I was more than happy to accept the traineeship offer.

From the moment I left the plane in Romania the people from LC Cluj were taking care of me and making sure that my experience would be more than great. They organized several social events or we just hung out, so that I really had the chance to learn a lot about Romanian culture, have fun and make friends.

The idea of World Citizenship is to bring trainees from all over the world to Romania to educate High School pupils in topics such as cultural understanding, team work, communication skills etc. as well as marketing and corporate social responsibility. Two trainees from Poland, one from Japan, another one from Kazakhstan and I formed a team and we prepared the training sessions together and delivered them in different High Schools. The project lasted 6 weeks and each week we were teaching two different topics. Most of the pupils were very curious and interested and enjoyed getting to know people from other countries. The project finished with a big Global Village where pupils from all the participating High Schools came together.

I guess the most challenging part for me was to work in an international team where each trainee had different motivations, goals and experience. Still, we managed these challenges, became friends and spent a great time together.

Participating in 2 AIESEC conferences additionally enriched my traineeship experience. AIESEC Romania is truly special and if you are a passionate AIESECer you should not miss this spirit and go to a conference there.

I returned to Germany with a backpack full of unforgettable memories, experiences, new friends, inspiring conversations, ideas, impressions…

I am very thankful for my experience and therefore I promised to LC Cluj that I will do my very best to influence someone from LC Cologne to come to Cluj in 2010. Maybe it will be you?!"

This person has became one of my best friends, and I am very happy to have met her....

Everything changes.....people, places, parts of our life, our dreams, the future, our expectations, our friends...and most off all, us! I have changed.... and everything around me, and the good part is that I'm loving it! I have a new start in so many things...in my professional life, school, new home, new roommates, ( crazy ones, but I love them)... these seems to be a new beginning...and I feel so positive about it!!! I like the new me, and the person which I became! I feel that I can do whatever I want, because I have great friends around me that support me, and trust in me. I have met some old friends lately, and I am glad to see that all of them have changed, into the better I could say, and I am glad that they started to enjoy life in such a way. The holiday is about to end, and the craziness of Cluj is waiting for me....and I miss it! I am ready for the new changes in my way...

After such a busy period, in which I used to loose the notion of time and of the thing that were happening to me, here came the recovery period... and it feels so good!!!! It's such a nice feeling to wake up, enjoy my coffee and quietly read the newspaper, making the best out of every morning in order to start in a good moon a new day... it's refreshing... it prepares me for the next period of time.....for the next challenges in my life, for my master, my OCP term, my life...and all the new things that will appear in my life.... and which I am waiting with enthusiasm. Until then, I am enjoying the 3 E's and the 3 F's.

Oh my god....este tot ce pot sa zic cand imi aduc aminte de ziua aia.....oh my god, it's over....desi mereu am crezut ca voi astepta cu nerabdare aceasta zi, tre sa spun ca a fost un amalgan de sentimente greu de explicat...am fost fericita....familia era langa mine, prietenii mei la fel, am ajuns cu bine la capatul unei experiente de 3 ani, care m-a marcat enorm, unde am legat prietenii ce sper ca nu vor fi desfacute vreodata, cu mii de intamplari funny, zeci de examene, emotii la licenta, iesiri la bere cu colegii, si deodata.....puff.....s-a dus.....incerc sa ma obisnuiesc cu gandul ca s-a terminat, dar imi e greu....stiu ca ne vom mai vedea....avem planuri pentru viitorul apropiat, dar.....totusi..nu pot sterge sentimentul pe care il am.....nu imi vine sa cred....parca a fost prea repede...prea deodata....unde au trecut 3 ani...cand?!?.... ma uit inapoi si nu imi vine sa cred...insa zambesc....au fost 3 ani frumosi....si traiti din plin......e adevarat..anii studentiei nu ii voi uita niciodata...o sa ramana undeva, intr-un locusor din inima mea, impreuna cu toate peripetiile avute si cu toate emotiile, incuiate, iar eu am cheia...si le pot deschide oricand...dar..totusi..nu pot uita..ca....it's over!!

Oare cum se face ca atunci cand ai nevoie de liniste si pace, si de a-ti incarca bateriile, vii acasa?!? Am avut o perioada foarte aglomerata, dar plina de satisfactii. S-au intamplat multe intre timp, Middle Management, TRIX-ul, o noua experienta de OC pentru mine, Step Up, matching, licenta, si multe altele.
Astazi, a fost o zi revigoranta!!! Da, complet revigoranta... asa de mult ravneam pentru asta... am avut o lunga plimbare prin oras, "acasa", am trecut prin locurile mele, mi-am luat covrigei din acelasi loc de unde imi luam cand eram in liceu, multe chestii care au ramas tot acolo, unde erau, magazinele sunt la locul lor, totul a ramas acolo unde trebuie, azi am intrat in magazinul meu preferat, si mi-am vazut ursuletul meu Panda, la locul lui, in vitrina, totul e neschimbat. Imi era dor de acasa. Dupa ce mi-am petrecut un Paste intre mese in familie, matching, vizite, matching, licenta, si somn.... azi pot spune ca mi-am incarcat bateriile pe deplin. Sunt gata pentru perioada care urmeaza, si pot spune ca sunt ferm convinsa ca voi reusi in tot ce imi propun. Saptamana viitoare incepe totul din nou, iarasi planning, matching, si mii de alte chetsii, dar totodata si aceeasi vechi prieteni, o plimbare in gradina botanica cu sobo, o intalnire la o cafea cu ioana si o ciocolata calda cu roxi. Multe intalniri placute doar intr-o saptamana. Primavara a inceput bine!!! Si eu ma simt bine! Asta e tot ce conteaza!!!!

I just received my first leapsa from Ale...and it goes like this:

So...this is the picture... it was taken at NPS 2008, a picture with two of my best friends...Roxi and Louie. All that conference was very great from all the points of view... i learned a lot..and manage to bound with a lot of people....when i often look at AIESEC pictures... i always have a smile upon my face because i realize how many friends I have here...and that i can say that i'm doing something that i totally love...

am un sentiment asa de placut...sentiment de "home"...e o chestie foarte ciudata...mereu mi-a placut inceputul de primavara acasa... parca pluteste linistea in aer... orasul asta imi ofera liniste si pace..oricat de ciudat ar suna, imi face bine sa fiu acasa!!! imi face bine sa fiu acasa!! azi...ma plimbam prin oras...si parca fiecare loc prin care treceam, imi aducea aminte de ceva...fiecare loc are o mica amintire....cred k pot spune ca aici e locul in care imi incarc bateriile...e ciudat cat de bine ma pot simti... mi-a fost dor de acasa... nu credeam niciodata ca o sa ajung sa zic asta...dar..asa e...si imi place aici...ma linisteste... si simt ca sunt protejata aici... acum sunt convinsa ca...timpul petrecut acasa...imi va fi folositor sa ma odihnesc...si sa ma intorc in cluj...cu bateriile incarcate, pentru ca am multe lucruri care ma asteapta...dar pana atunci...o sa ma bucur de ceva timp liber, poate mai si citesc ceva, oricum, o sa ma simt bine...asta e sigur:)

Prinsa intre 2 lumi... intre trecut si prezent...intre ceea ce voiam sa devin....si ceea ce am devenit...oare cand stii ca visele ti s-au implinit, sau ca e cazul sa uiti de ele?!?...si sa iti faci altele...nu stiu...si nici nu cred ca vreau sa stiu... sentimentul ciudat pe care il am la fiecare inceput de an e legat de asteptari... la ce ma astept de la noul an...nu am stiut niciodata cum sa raspund la aceasta intrebare simpla...nu vreau sa stiu ce imi rezerva anul nou...vreau sa fiu surprinsa si sa ma pot bucura de orice mica intamplare...sa o pot trai la maxim... sa pot simti ca viata nu imi este planificata si ca noi lucruri mi se vor ivi, de-a lungul timpului... depinde doar de mine...si de ceea ce vreau eu sa devin... poate pana la urma...e ok sa lasi lumea sa te cunoasca asa cum esti...cu temeri, cu sperante, cu vise... cu tot ce ai mai bun si mai rau...un nou inceput ma asteapta... cum am sa ma folosesc de el....inca nu stiu...inca nu vreau sa stiu..vreau sa ma amagesc ca destinul va decide pentru mine... pentru ca eu intre timp sa ma pot bucura de orice mi se iveste... pana ma decid intre care dintre cele 2 lumi vreau sa raman...in ceea ce am fost pana acum...sau in una noua, unde pot deveni ce vreau...intre vise si realitate...

Merry Christmas!!!! Am sa inaugurez acest blog in limba romana, nu stiu de ce, dar simt nevoia sa fac asta. A mai trecut un an, al 21-lea craciun petrecut...mi-a adus linistea de care aveam nevoie. Privind in urma la acest an, pot sa zic cu mana pe inima ca a fost unul bestial.... mi-am facut fff multi prieteni, cu cei vechi am impartasit multe chestii, multe nebunii, inca un an de faculta terminat cu bine... doamne....a fost super... tot ce imi doresc pentru urmatorul an e sanatate si putere de munca... si toti oamenii la care tin langa mine....and "the" one. Multe experiente si incercari ma asteapta, si le voi infrunta asa cum fac mereu....cu un zambet....o sa incerc sa imbunatatesc cateva lucruri la mine, sa scap de cateva "bad habbits", si sa ma bucur de nepotelul meu scump si drag.
Un an nou plin de impliniri si lucruri frumoase tuturor!!!

Hello.....such a long time since i've written something, and so many things happened in my life, that i do not know where to start with.

World Citizenship is over. I still can not believe it. Is has been a great project, and also a great period of time, i've made new friends, and lived one of the greatest experieces of my life. No matter the struggle that we put in making this project work, it was alll worthed...thanks Louie...for giving me the opportunity of being part of this project. The trainees are all gone, have reached home safe and sound, and with great memories concerning Romania.

The elections are over, the new bord is elected, almost all of it, except 4 positions,but that will be fixed really soon. I'm not in, but I am really happy, because the people how will lead AIESEC Cluj in the next period are awesome people, friends of mine in which i trust and respect them for their commitment and ability of doing great things.

Vladutz was elected MCP.... which is great, i'm really happy for him and I know he will do great things in the next years. I can not help being proud of the fact that the next MCP in from Cluj.... he deserves it....

What else....o....yes...I'm 21 now. I'm a mature, responsible person.....:))..... ( ya right..) I do not feel any difference.... but....maybe it will come with the time....but until then, I will remain a child...:P

NPS... a lifetime experience... a moment that i will definitely not forget,a conference that motivated me... got me to realize how much i grew in this last year... brought me back confidence... new friends... and hope... hope to dream and to fight for what i want... it feels so good now... and...i'm smiling....now... i'm preparing for the next 2 weeks....which hopefully will mean the start of a great experience that i will never forget...so...wish me luck....because i know i want it...and that i'm capabile of doing it....smile:)

I've been listening to some friends yesterday.... talking about time... time flies, but your the pilot... a really got input about how to live your life... of what you want to do with your time, and life... in such times you think about the changes that you would like to do in your life....well...more mature....responsible and learning to say no....were the things that a friend said a should improve... more the ultimate part.... so....there will be a attempt to do this things... well..things are going well...form ok..to better....the sun is shining on my street...and i'm happy about it...i'm glad that i'm able to communicate with make new friends.... and have a great time with them...that is what i've been doing for the last 2 weeks....and i really like it....i wish that this project World Citizenship would last longer.....but..in the meanwhile...i will try to get the best of it...

There are times in your live when you are in such a rush of doing things that you forgot to enjoy the meaning of life....thank God that there are simple things that get you back to that...for me...that was a purple scarf... just an ordinary day....which ended really great...with a lot of achievements, and...most important with a smile... a simple thing like that which gave me confidence and power to start the morning with a smile... so... smile on Monday, it confuses people!:) and...in the meanwhile, I will continue to smile when i see purple...:)
